Our approach to spiritual enrichment for youth is comprehensive and relevant in that it encourages our young people to apply spirituality in all areas of life, including self-development and social responsibility. It is our hope that our approach fosters an environment of wholeness and authenticity to help young people discover more of who they are, develop strong relationships with others, and deepen their connection to God. We welcome their questions and doubts - two components to experiencing faith with honesty. The experience incorporates ample learning AND laughter, but it takes our young people seriously!
The young people journey together through the stages of the program to build strong community with each other and adult mentors. This stability of group dynamics creates a safe, sacred space where the group members can learn to trust themselves and each other as they grow in faith.
Participants interact with other parishioners as they participate in a parish-sponsored ministry.
Youth Ministry at St. Andrew's is coordinated by Fr. Derrick - please contact him with any questions at email@example.com or 567.5901.
All regular Christian formation for youth takes place on the first and third Sundays of each month from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. At each youth gathering, youth will participate in large group activities, including games, meals and service projects. On the first Sunday of the month, we begin the gathering with a worship experience tailored to youth life. Friends of participants are welcome to all our activities! After large group activities, the youth go to grade-specific classes:
Grades 6 and 7 - Rite 13
The two years of Rite 13 focus on recognizing the unique gifts, attributes, and personalities God has given us, celebrating our creative potential, and learning to interact as a community of faith. Real life application and experiential activities make the journey engaging.
Our youth ministry is solid thanks to a dedicated group of adults, including Betsy Bartlett, Dean Berry, Catherine Brill, Mary Ellen Brush, Ed Butrick, Jamie Fetz, Fr. Derrick, Betsy Scuderi and Valerie Smart.
